Signature Block of Washington County Committee

Barn Quilts of Washington County chose this block pattern and color theme for their signature block.

The original 4' X 4' block will travel throughout Washington County during community celebrations and public events, drawing attention to the newly founded project.

The block pattern was specifically chosen because of the tourism routes the
Barn Quilts committee has chosen for Washington County, Iowa.

The map details the first route (illustrated in purple) where barn quilt blocks can be found by the conclusion of  2007.   You'll notice how the first route resembles the upper right corner of the Pumpkin Seed or Petals block.

Future barn owners will display blocks in the next three years,
as the Barn Quilt Committee receives owners' permission, and  blocks can be funded as well as constructed and mounted.

If you're interested in volunteering for this project, please contact Chairpersons Julie or Dr. Terry Mangold at 319-698-2033.

Detailed maps and barn owner locations for 2007 will be forthcoming.
