Announcing Washington County Fall Quilt Festival, 2010
September 27-October 3
In celebration of four years of Washington County's hanging barn quilt blocks and adding to the beautiful landscape, plans are being announced for a county-wide celebration.

A list of Activities is developing, but a few of the highlights are outlined below:

Washington Community Theater will conduct the performance "The Quilters", Sept. 30-October 3; Ticket announcements forthcoming.

County Wide Hanging of the Quilts, October 2; Raindate, October 3, 2010.

AAUW Barn Quilt / Bus Tour; contact Karen Murphy for details at 319-653-5139.

Washington Friends of the Library speaker Bettina Havig, of Columbia, Missouri. She will be speaking of "Quilts as American Folk Art", on Saturday, September 25th, from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. bettinaqc@socket.net.
Washington Public Library, 2nd Floor.

Washington County Barn Quilt Photo Contest to be conducted. Cash Prizes.
   Rules: Photo submitted must be of a Washington County Barn Quilt. Entries Due August 31, 2010.
   Fees: $2.00/picture, $5/4 four photos, maximum limit =4.
  Three Divisions; Junior > 18 years; Amateur, and Professional.
   
Barn Quilt Photos to be on display at Washington's new Public Library, Helen Wilson Gallery.


Announcers are opening Barn Quilt coloring contest to the Washington County Schools. Those winning displays will be shown during Barn Quilt Festival at a location to be announced.

Quilt Display, Downtown Washington, Sept. 27-October 3.

Barn Quilt Dinner to be held at Washington County Extension Building, Sunday, October 3, 2010.
This fundraiser is to benefit the Barn Quilt Committee and 4-H Clubs of the county. Contact Carol Horning for details.

DAR Log Cabin at Sunset Park will hold a Quilting raffle and quilting demo, with the Log Cabin being open at Sunset Park, dates and times to be announced.
